General information

The Museum store is a modest one, located at the front information desk, near the museum entry. The store is a primary outlet for village craftsmen and women. Perhaps the best known craft from this community is the widely renowned “Anaktuvuk Pass Caribou Skin Mask.” We also, from time to time, carry other traditional craft items such as caribou skin boots or mittens, Eskimo yo-yo’s and beadwork, when they are available.

We also carry a range of souvenir clothing such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants jackets and hats.

Soon to be available for purchase will be a number of interesting and detailed museum publications pertaining to, and elaborating upon many of the exhibits, displays and artifacts in our collections.

For those people interested in learning more about our community and our history, we have reprinted a number highly informative and easy to read pamphlet sized articles and publications. Among those currently available are:

Anaktuvuk Pass: Land of the Nunamiut by museum staff
The Hungry Summer by John Martin Campbell
Notes on the Nunamiut Eskimo and Mammals of the Anaktuvuk Pass Region, Brooks Range, Alaska by Robert Rausch
Territoriality Among Ancient Hunters: Interpretations from Ethnography and Nature. By John Martin Campbell
