Kaktovik Water Incident Management Team
Operational Update
The Do Not Drink the Water notice remains in effect until officially lifted. Kaktovik residents should continue using an alternative source of water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making Ice, and other activities Involving consumption.
Refilling of the North Tank through the pipeline from the lake continues as weather conditions permit. To date, approximately 137,000 gallons of water have been stored in the tank.
Pressure testing of the North and South reservoir heating-loop piping is complete. Testing confirmed that the piping is sound.
Additional updates will be provided as laboratory results and other confirmed information become available.
